Review: Carve in Las Vegas

Recently, I returned to Carve, the steakhouse in The Eastside Cannery in Las Vegas.  All of a sudden I realized I may not have introduced y’all to this hidden gem!  Can’t have that!

Although there is a large sign over the door, it seems tucked back in a section of the casino.  It’s quite the place, elegant, and perfect for couples.   Even though it’d been a few months since I was last there, the waiters remembered me.  Now, it might have been because of my restrictive diet, but nevertheless, it was wonderful to have them remember me.  😉  Carve is located in the casino, and has some windows that face the machines, but it’s quiet inside, with dim lighting.  What a nice change from the blaring machines and bright lights.  It gives you space to breathe and relax.

One of my waiters I had on my first visit, Vincent, was also one of my waiters this trip.  He was always on top of things, filling my water glass, seeing if I needed anything, and chatting with me on slower moments.  Truly a great personal touch.  It seems they have two waiters per table to make sure you are well taken care of.

Their menu is quite varied. Because it’s a steakhouse, I ordered steak, naturally!  The picture I took above was from my first meal.  A wonderful NY Strip, with spinach, sauteed in butter.  They catered to my restrictive diet, and were always trying to suggest possible items I could eat instead of the “illegal” stuff.  What splendid service!   This last visit, I got the 30oz Porterhouse, with just salt and pepper.  Because of the size of the steak (it filled the ENTIRE plate !!), I chose to opt out of any sides.  The leftover steak went well with my eggs the next morning!  Yum!  Both steaks were cooked to perfection and weren’t outrageously priced.

If you are in Las Vegas, or just visiting, you should take a trip to the East side for a great meal and wonderful service at Carve in the Cannery!
