Review – Snooze, Phoenix, AZ (Make sure you check this place out!!)

20150519_143309It’s actually called Snooze, an A.M. eatery, but for the purposes of this blog, just the first name will be used.  🙂  One of my dearest friends turned me on to this wonderful restaurant.  Knowing my dietary restrictions, she suggested Snooze because they have a lot of breakfast items. Not only does breakfast provide a lot of variety for me, it’s usually something I can eat all day!  How about you?  Love it!

Snooze has several locations in California, Colorado, and Arizona, so check this link to see if there’s one by you!

The feel of the place is very 70’s retro, and the decor reflects that.

20150519_125120Don’t know about you, but I’m pretty sure this is the same bike I rode as a kid.  The rest of the place has similar items bringing a smile to everyone’s face.  Their menu is basically up-scaled breakfast items.  Snooze is sustainable, organic, and very community minded as well as providing amazing food.  For an example, instead of just serving oatmeal, they serve

Apple and Cranberry Quinoa Porridge
A hearty blend of quinoa and oats topped with caramelized apple-cranberry compote, candied pecans and whipped mascarpone.

They have amazing buttermilk pancake plates that sound “to die for”, like this:

Pineapple Upside Down Pancakes
Buttermilk pancakes with caramelized pineapple chunks, housemade vanilla crème anglaise and cinnamon butter

or

Sweet Potato Pancakes
Our signature sweet potato buttermilk pancakes topped with homemade caramel, candied pecans and ginger butter.

Is your mouth watering yet?  Mine is, and I can’t even eat those!  How yummy they’d be!  Let me know if you visit a Snooze and try one of those dishes. We’d all like to hear!

Our waiter was so kind, and told us that Snooze’s philosophy is that they are there to please the customer, so however you want your food prepared, they’ll do it!  I ordered the 3 egg omelet, made with freshly cracked eggs with spinach, cheddar and avocado. They suggested fruit instead of the “normal” side of toast or hash browns.  Look how lovely this plate was!

20150519_131700It absolutely tasted wonderful!  My friend ordered:

Juan’s Breakfast Tacos
Three fresh corn or flour tortillas topped with scrambled eggs, shredded hash browns, jack cheese, green chile hollandaise & pico de gallo.

20150519_131723She ordered the corn tortillas, so my gluten-free friends might want to try this dish.  It got rave reviews!

The wait staff didn’t rush us out, but allowed our conversation to continue to its conclusion.  Our visit to Snooze was just what we needed, very tasty food, and time to talk.  If you are ever close to one, do your taste buds a favor, and drop by!
