Review – Red Robin, Lake Havasu, AZ

Been waiting for another review? Wait no more!!  😉  Recently, I was down in Lake Havasu, AZ and thought I’d use that opportunity to review a couple of restaurants.  For those of you in other parts of the world, here’s a map of where Lake Havasu is located. lake-havasu-city-map

It has really grown since I was there as a child, boasting about 50,000 residents.  Lake Havasu is most famous for having the London Bridge there.  Bought in England, and reassembled piece by piece on the lake.  People flock there with their boats and fishing poles to try to catch the bass or sturgeon during their stay.  The weekend I was there was no different.  It was the first super warm day (97 degrees), plus it was Spring Break, so the town was overrun!  Get to the review already…  I know.

The Red Robin is a national chain, so perhaps these tips/ review will help in other Red Robin’s around the country, and maybe not.  First off, I had an enjoyable experience here.  All the restaurants in Lake Havasu fill up as the sun goes down, so get there early!  As usual, I sat at the bar so I wouldn’t take up booth space.  Jenny was the bartender/server assigned there that night.  What a joy she was!  Super friendly and helpful.  When I explained that I had allergies and had to work with the menu, she gave me one of these cards.  20150327_174723If you have a scanner on your phone, you can scan the QR Code and it will take you right to their allergy menu.  Very handy if you are allergic to a few foods!  Try it out and let me know if it was helpful to you!

The Allergen Friendly Menu wasn’t available to me, and that was okay since I usually create my own meal anyway.  Jenny worked with the manager to figure out how to price everything, and made sure the chefs knew about my allergies.

My typical dinner worked here.  I ordered a “side hamburger patty with no seasoning, add a slice of sharp cheddar and some Romaine lettuce”.  Jenny even ran to the back to get me some olive oil, since the oil they serve for salads is a blend.  Great service!!   Here’s a pic of the meal:

20150327_180608They had real Parmesan, so I had that on the salad, along with salt, pepper, olive oil, and vinegar.  The meal was quite yummy, and with all substitutions, only cost about $9, which I thought was really reasonable.  It was a large salad and a pretty good size hamburger, so I was quite full when I finished.

As I said, it was Spring Break, so after the sun went down, all the party people showed up.  Jenny handled the drunkards with ease and she worked quickly to keep up with the onslaught.

I’d recommend Red Robin in Lake Havasu for all my other “Sensitive Eaters”.  Friendly, cost efficient, and accommodating.  Head over there if you’re in the area!
